About IFEX

COMPANY PROFILE IFEX is a manufacturing company, which uses highly developed methods in order to fully exploit fish product values. The development of the present production line began in 1986, when an experiment on the production of pet treat samples out of fish was carried out and the samples then tried on pets. Samples were also sent to few selected buyers with positive results and since then the development is continually being carried out. The company Snackfish was founded in 1995 and started producing dried snacks for people. Since then, the product has continually been developed for pets. About one year ago, the product was introduced to several buyers which then made test orders. The product met much satisfaction and the customers continued buying it. This became the trigger of the foundation of Ifex, by the owners of Snackfish, Sigurnes and Skinnfiskur ehf, which is the biggest raw material provider on the South-West coast of Iceland, with close to 20.000-30.000 tons of raw material in a well organized distribution system. A raw material which is highly suitable for the pet treat production. The company is situated in the same building as Skinnfiskur ehf, in an area of 850 square meters. A powerful drying factory was installed providing a great capacity for production. The Snackfish product is a natural product made out of fresh fish from the clean ocean around Iceland. Pets can suffer from the same kind of cultural diseases as people, i.e. obesity, diabetes and other illnesses caused by bad diet. The 100% Icelandic fish used in IFEX's products contains Omega 3 and 6 fatty acids vital to heart health and boosting the immune system. The pet snacks on the market presently typically contain sugar, artificial flavour and colour, additives and preservatives, which may be detrimental to animal health. On the other hand, IFEX products are 100% natural without additives, preservatives or fillers. Many fillers today can cause allergies in our pets. The Snackfish treats contain a considerable amount of fishbone, which is naturally high in phosphates. Phosphates are important for the development of the brain. The Snackfish manufacturing method conserves the products content much better than other methods. The drying method maintains the products quality far longer than other traditional methods. Pets naturally love the taste and smell of fish. Snackfish products therefore may be used as a training tool to reinforce good behaviours. Snackfish treats are also very good for your pet's teeth.

| About Whaling in Iceland:
IFEX is proactive against whaling, hence owns
it’s fleet of ships. A note from Iceland Pure president We most certainly can't stop Iceland from harvesting a small number of whales per year. But we make sure that we are not part of the problem and we condemned such fishing practices. Several times I have sent emails to the Ministry of Fisheries in Iceland complaining about such practices. Does it makes any difference, I don't think so, but at least I am tried. |
